  • The Chinese Mainland
  • Macau
  • Overseas

Starting from 2012, some Mainland higher education institutions consider admission applications from Hong Kong students taking part in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination based on their HKDSE results, thus exempting them from taking the Joint Entrance Examination for Universities on the Mainland. For details and the most updated information on the Scheme for Admission of Hong Kong Students to Mainland Higher Education Institutions, please visit the websites of the Education Bureau and China Education Exchange (Hong Kong and Macao) Centre Chinese only.

The qualification of HKDSE has been widely accepted as credential for admission by international agencies, overseas universities and colleges. Students can apply directly to overseas universities or institutions based on their HKDSE results. For the most updated information about the admission requirements based on the HKDSE, please visit the website of HKEAA.

Post-secondary institutions may set specific entrance requirements in individual programmes. For details, please refer to the websites of the post-secondary institutions.
